My mom lost her job working at a CVS near by and I knew shit was going bad for us. I worked nightshift at a local diner and before going home, I would raid the bakery and stock rooms for food to take home to my mom and sister. The first time I came home with stuff my mom asked me where I got it from and I told her I took it. She smacked across my head and told me I can't afford to lose this job since I was the only one making money. My sister was only 10 and I was 18 and it was my first job, but she knew we needed food and I didnt make much to pay the bills and buy food at the same time. The owners of the place were really nice and to this day I regret just not telling them my situation but I felt ashamed of everything and didn't want people to treat me like some sort of charity case and feel sorry for me. Luckily my mom found a job a few months later and I didn't have to do that shit anymore.
